No return to games after October 22nd 2021 2021-10-31 09:16:00

02/11/21

In respect to return to play Cumann na mBunscol instructs each county to follow current guidelines as outlined by their respective Departments of Education

1. There has been no change to the directive from the Department of Education in the 26 Counties i.e that children must be kept in their bubbles.  This means that shcools should not organise games with other schools at this time.

When the Department of Education updates their guidance  we will offer further instruction as soon as possible thereafter

Just an UPDATE to last week’s notice.

Return to play after October 22nd 2021 is not certain

No interschool games to be played until further direction

While the National Committee is hopeful that some inter school games will be going ahead after the October mid- term, they have informed us in light of rising covid numbers, that this is not yet certain, therefore we are awaiting further direction.

We will of course keep you informed of any developments.

If you are interested in participating in some sort of football competition please fill in the form and return it to the office by Friday next October 15th.

See below link for a football entry form.

Once we know which and how many schools are interested, we will immediately be able to start working on a format, if and when we receive the go ahead to do so.

Unfortunately we can’t say what format this competition might take until any new covid related directions are issued but we are obviously anxious for our children to get some opportunity to play Sciath na Scol football for their schools during the 2021/22 school year.

  2. All County Secretaries are asked to inform their schools of the above instruction as soon as possible.
