I trust I find you well. Please note the information below;
Return to Play Update:
I am delighted to inform you that Public Health have confirmed that after school training and inter school games in the 26 Counties can recommence after the mid term break. Each Coiste is now instructed to begin organising their respective games programmes.
We have not received any detail in regard to the use of buses for travelling to games. We await further advice and will update you as soon as this becomes available.
The position in the 6 counties remains unchanged.

A Chara
please bring this email to the attention of you oifigeach na gcluichí and Principal. Sciath na Scol are expecting to return to activities on March 1st 2022. We are awaiting instructions from the DES
In the meantime each school are to follow current guidelines.
When the Department of Education updates their guidance, we will offer further instruction as soon as possible thereafter
All links to entry forms and rules are below
The following is an outline of our proposed calendar of events for the rest of the school year.
1. Primary Game
We are hopeful we will have a Primary game and are proposing to have a selection process for Hurling/Camogie on the week beginning March 1st, with Football/Girls football the week of March 8th.
Schools must be affiliated to Sciath na Scol to enter a child for Primary game, ie they must take part in a Sciath na Scol competition in the year 2021/2022
Please note the rule regarding selection of children for primary games. Only one girl and one boy can be selected from an individual school and be born on or after 1st January 2009
Entry form to be completed online by Friday 11th Feb.
2. Hurling/Camogie Entry
Entry fee: €20
We are also eager to run a full Hurling/Camogie competition from March to June and have attached an entry form here to be returned by Friday 11th February. We propose we start the hurling/Camogie competition the week of 21st March and have at least 2 to 3 matches completed before Easter with finals happening on week beginning May 30th and June 7th. Note dates
If you are interested in participating please fill in the form online by Friday next February 11th and send in the €20 entry fee to the following address Sciath na Scol, Páirc Ui Rinn, Boreenamannagh Road, Cork. We are presently in the process of setting up electronic banking and hope to have it in place by September.
Panels will be restricted if you reach a final.
Each school is entitled to line out a starting team of players and a maximum of the same amount of substitute players. (only 6 of which will be allowed in the dugout) See link for further information
See below link for entry form for Hurling/Camogie and Primary Game
Some schools have changed from an eircom email address and/or their teacher contact may have changed over the years. If you need to update your contact details please fill out that form online too....all links below or on our website www.sciathnascol.com
Once we know which and how many schools are interested, we will immediately be able to start working on a format, if and when we receive the go ahead to do so.
Unfortunately we can’t say what format this competition might take until any new covid related directions are issued but we are obviously anxious for our children to get some opportunity to play Sciath na Scol Hurling/Camogie for their schools during the 2021/22 school year.
3. Football/Girls Football entry
We had sent out a football entry form back in October and we still are keen to run this in June if time permits. This would be very localised and probably be in the form of blitzes. if you wish to enter the football competition the link is also on the website or below.
In the meantime please practice health and safety guidelines as regards school activities according to the Dept of Health. Sciath na Scol will not take any responsibility for schools ignoring this advice.

In respect to return to play Cumann na mBunscol instructs each county to follow current guidelines as outlined by their respective Departments of Education
1. There has been no change to the directive from the Department of Education in the 26 Counties i.e that children must be kept in their bubbles. This means that shcools should not organise games with other schools at this time.
When the Department of Education updates their guidance we will offer further instruction as soon as possible thereafter
2.
